Centre d'Art — Haiti

Haiti's founding modern-art institution (1944), credited with launching the Haitian Art Movement (Hyppolite, Obin, Benoit, Bazile) and hosting André Breton. Original building was destroyed in the 2010 earthquake; reopened in temporary Port-au-Prince premises in 2014 and later acquired a gingerbread mansion in Pacot, though the move there has been delayed.
