Saba Lace Room (Kakona Saba)
Retail shop specializing in Saba Lace ("Spanish Work"), a hand-drawn-thread needlework craft that began as a cottage industry in the late 19th century after Mary Gertrude (née Hassell) Johnson brought the technique back from a Venezuelan convent. Lacework was a key export/mail-order income source for the island until the 1950s and won the Prince Bernhard Caribbean Culture Prize.
